Benefits of ICF
Insulated Concrete Forms offer more than just strength — they redefine how buildings perform. At Northwestern ICF, we supply advanced Nudura® systems that combine energy efficiency, durability, and speed of installation into one smart solution.
Builders and developers choose ICF for its proven ability to lower long-term energy costs, reduce labor demands on site, and deliver superior performance in all weather conditions. From thermal insulation to disaster resistance, ICF construction offers lasting value that outperforms traditional wood framing.
Whether you’re designing a custom home or a multi-unit commercial project, ICF ensures a solid foundation for smarter building — and better results.
How It Works
Building with ICF is a streamlined process – the six step process makes building a breeze!
Step 1: Confirm that the footings or slab-on-grade foundation is properly prepared, level and free of debris.
Step 2: Form Stacking – Starting at the corners, ICFs are placed with each new block connecting to the one beside it.
Step 3: Reinforcement – After stacking each horizontal layer of ICF blocks, steel reinforcements are installed in the cavities, snapping into place in the webbing.
Step 4: Alignment System – A temporary alignment system is placed at regular intervals along the walls to enable proper alignment during concrete placement.
Step 5: Concrete Placement – Concrete is placed into the ICFs, filling the cavity completely.
Step 6: Finishing Touches.
